- We are lecturers and practicing professionals in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. Our undergraduate BSc/BA (Hons) Sports programmes are dynamic vocational degrees delivered with the physically active in mind, whether that is within the local community, the recreational or professional athlete. Our experience and expertise in professional sport and private industry allows the sports student to gain first hand and current knowledge in the field of sports medicine, exercise and training. We maintain strong links in industry, which provides our students opportunities for excellent work experience placements. Community events also allow students to voluntarily offer their skills to assist the competitor, which further strengthens the role and credibility that our sports students play within the health and exercise medicine spectrum. Our in-house Sports & Spinal Injuries Clinic and Athlete Development Centre also provide our means of actual practice and teaching where we welcome anyone wishing to have their injury managed, or fitness tested, advised and monitored to the highest standards using recent and researched methods to access our facility in Bolton One.

Wilmslow Half Marathon 2014
The annual Wilmslow Half was upon us again this morning, and our Sport Rehabilitation students were on hand to support Sport Med Physiotherapy Clinic in their athlete assistance. £736 was raised for Stockport Cerebral Palsy, a fantastic effort from our guys in providing massages both pre and post race for the runners.

BBC Media City Sport Relief Support
Year 2 and 3 students, Michael White, Hattie Blaydes and Faye Harvey headed over to BBC's Media City in Salford to give their support and expertise in pushing the BBC staff to help raise money for Sport Relief. Their aim is to accumluate the equivalent milage around the world (28,000 miles) via treadmills, bikes and hand bikes! Good luck to all!

Year 3 Placement visits start!
Our year 3 students are currently out and about on their clinical placements, and the Sport Rehabilitation staff have the job of visiting the likes of Bolton Wanderers FC Academy, Wigan Athletic FC, Warrington Wolves RLFC, Oldham Athletic FC, Bury FC and sports injury clinics in the local area.

Super League Injury Reports approval!
Today, Anna and Adam met with the RFL executives to finally approve the very first Annual Super League Injury Report. All clubs will receive an individualised version, comparing their injury statistics (anonymously) to the rest of the league clubs, averages and for the first time be able to base their prevention strategies on firm data. A groundbreaking and ongoing research project between the RFL and the University of Bolton, in particular Anna Fitzpatrick and Adam Naylor, this is looking to build a set of trends so that injury risk can be established and reduced effectively in the sport.
